Thinking with Logic

Written by The Lennon Bus

These days music and videos have never been easier and more fun to create. There are so many amazing tools and programs that allow you to translate creative visions into creative reality. Today I’m going to talk about my favorite DAW, or digital audio workstation, Apple’s Logic Pro 8. For those who have never heard of Logic, its an altered beast of a program, shall I elaborate…...YES! Logic Pro 8 is a powerful music production application that features an intuitive interface that makes it easy to write, record, edit, and mix music—all with the legendary sound quality and rock-solid timing. Its a very affordable program for anyone looking to get started making music or for someone that has been composing for years. Its $499.00 for the Logic studio bundle that includes tools and sounds for extensive digital media creation. The studio bundle includes Logic and the following: MainStage - a revolutionary interface designed to let you bring software instruments and effects to the stage. Soundtrack Pro 2 - Powerful editing tools, surround mixing, and a streamlined interface simplify audio post production for film and video so you can focus on cinematic sound. Studio Instruments - Produce and play nearly any sound imaginable with the largest set of instrument plug-ins available in a single box. Studio Effects - From vintage and modern compressors to distortion effects and amp models, 80 effect plug-ins give you a wide range of ways to get creative with sound. Studio Sound Library - Experiment with your sound. The complete content of five Jam Pack collections — Jam Pack 1, Remix Tools, Rhythm Section, Symphony Orchestra, and World Music — provides infinite possibilities for writing, producing, and performing your music. You can read about the program and all it has to offer here: http://www.apple.com/logicstudio/

I will be popping in every now and again to share tips and tricks in Logic to give musicians and sound engineers a gander at what makes Logic my best good buddy. Stay tuned!!!
