Brian Rothschild Executive Director

Brian grew up listening to the great harpsichord and piano music of the 18th and 19th century.  His mother was a concert pianist who started giving him lessons at the age of 4.  By 15 he was accompanying choral groups and at age 16 played the celeste with the Hartford Symphony for the Hartford Ballet’s production of the Nutcracker.  After that, he began writing music and songs, and eventually was signed as an artist with Columbia Records under the name Iam Siam.  In 1998, along with music manager David Sonenberg, Brian created the first version of the Lennon Bus and has since devoted his time to expanding the project around the world.

Jaime Walden Associate Director

Jaime Walden received her MBA specializing in International Management from Northeastern University and a BA in Music from Baruch College.  She began singing, playing guitar, and writing songs at the young age of six years old in Florida.  Her passion for live music led her to New York City, where she began working in production and talent booking for several music venues.  In her seventh year with the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, Jaime focuses on expanding the Lennon Bus’ mission globally and oversees international operations, development, and programming for the organization.

Jeff Sobel Chief Engineer

Jeff Sobel has been a professional sound engineer since 1998. He has produced several albums for indie artists and was both a house and touring live sound engineer before joining the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus in 2002 as an on-board engineer.  Jeff spent 3 years on the road with the Bus during which time he oversaw the 2004-launched rebuild of the first Lennon Bus.  In 2007, Jeff designed the next generation Lennon Bus for which he created an environment and system design ideally suited to the Bus’ unique mission.  A few years later Jeff designed and oversaw the construction of Lennon Bus Europe which launched in Liverpool in May, 2013.  Jeff manages the Lennon Bus studios, shepherding its daily well-being as well as directing its long-term technical vision, and trains and supports its onboard engineers.
In addition to his work with the Lennon Bus, Jeff is currently a freelance consultant and educator living in Los Angeles, CA and is the author of the Apple Pro Training Series book Sound Editing in Final Cut Studio.  He spends his spare time supporting causes related to animal rights and welfare.

Matthew Reich Assistant Director/Tour Coordinator

Matthew Reich has been heavily involved in music and the creative process since his early childhood.  From leading the high school marching band and performing in the philharmonic to touring internationally with his own bands, he has gained great real life knowledge of the music industry coupled with his BA in Music Business from Baruch College.  He is currently also a songwriter/artist signed to Kobalt Music Publishing. As the Assistant Director he oversees the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and logistics for the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus in the United States.

Bryce Quig-Hartman Onboard Engineer

Bryce was born and raised in Vallejo, California. He grew up listening to his dad’s LPs and riding shotgun with his grandparents to the symphony. Following his mother’s footsteps, Bryce began taking piano lessons and was performing by age eight. His love for music ultimately led him to receive his bachelor’s degree from ex’pression college for digital arts. Bryce can otherwise be seen owning noobs on Call of Duty or relaxing and taking in the sunset/sunrise.

Peter Novoa Onboard Engineer

Peter Novoa grew up in Alhambra, Ca.  There he started playing music at an early age of 7. He started banging on cardboard boxes as his dad played guitar and his sisters would sing.  His dad eventually bought him a yard sale drum set and an electric gtr.  In the 8th grade he decided it was time to take his new abilities to the stage and play at his elementery school talent show w his new band.  He has been in various bands ranging from punk, post-hardcore, to indie pop dance music in the past 18 years.  Peter plays drums, Gtr, and Bass. He decided to take his passion for music to the next level, and get an education in Audio Technology and Production. So he attended the School of Audio Engineering in Los Angeles, Ca.  After he graduated from SAE, Peter began engineering in a few studios in the North East LA area.  He loves working w his closest friends producing tracks and collaborating on new projects. He currently drums for the indie dance band Rivoah.

Philip Chmalts Onboard Engineer

Originally born in Kaliningrad, Russia, Philip hails from Chicago, Illinois. His musical career started when he began playing the saxophone in 4th grade. In high school, he took lessons and played in many of his school’s jazz bands. By 15, he learned drums and played in a cover band with his friends. Realizing that music was something that he wanted to try his hand at professionally, he was accepted to Berklee College of Music and received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Production and Engineering. At Berklee, the studio became his passion and he has since produced albums with his friends and founded his own recording studio, Red Stair Records, in Allston, MA. Post graduation in 2013, he moved to LA where he worked at an Ad music house and then BMG. In his free time, Phil can be found exploring new places, on tops of mountains or at concerts seeing new bands.

Chris Walker Driver

Chris has been a professional driver since the age of 19, beginning with cross-country truck driving.  After years on the road, Chris left driving to work in the music industry, starting as an intern at Motown Records and eventually become a tour and production manager for the label. Having worked with Motown for 7 years, Chris returned to the road to drive coaches for some of the biggest names in music.  Nearly a decade and a half later, Chris crossed paths with the Lennon Bus and came on board as its full-time driver.  Chris is the perfect fit for the unique needs of the Bus and its crew and loves being a part of this amazing program.
