Jeff Sobel Chief Technology Officer

Jeff began work as a sound engineer in 1998, producing several albums for indie artists and working as both a house and touring live sound engineer before joining the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus in 2002 as an on-board engineer. After spending 3 years touring continuously with the Bus, producing original content with kids every day, he directed a complete rebuild of the Lennon Bus studios, the evolution of which he had been guiding during his tenure as onboard engineer. In 2007, Jeff designed the completely new Lennon Bus, creating an environment and system design ideally suited to the Bus’ unique mission, and served as the overall project manager as well as systems integrator.  Jeff then designed Lennon Bus Europe, an entirely custom-built vehicle launched in Liverpool in May, 2013, and handled project management for its creation, a process that involved teams working across three countries.  Jeff manages the Lennon Bus studios, directing its technical vision as well as shepherding its daily well-being and trains and supports its onboard engineers.  He is focused on developing and integrating solutions which enhance the Bus’ mission, its staff’s processes, and visitors’ experience.
Jeff lives in Los Angeles and travels often. In addition to his work with the Lennon Bus, Jeff is a freelance consultant.  He spends his spare time supporting causes he believes in.
