The non-profit mobile recording and multimedia studio becomes the official broadband bus and lounge of the Fergie Verizon VIP Tour
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, on which Fergie recorded Fergalicious and several other cuts from her current CD, will join the Fergie Verizon VIP Tour. The Bus will host VIPs and contest winners for meet ‘n greets, tours of the unique studio environment, and provide visitors with the chance to feel like they’re in a Fergie video with Reflecmedia’s new chroma key system provided by Bogen Imaging. The three Lennon Bus on-board engineers will shoot backstage footage as well as the very special acoustic performances by Fergie at selected Verizon stores; that footage will be streamed exclusively to Verizon users’ phones.
The Fergie Verizon VIP Tour is Fergie’s debut national solo tour, following her extraordinary recording success both as a solo artist and as a member of the Black Eyed Peas. The tour is ticketless and wireless. Tickets are available only through Verizon Wireless via mobile phone, through either V CAST download or VzW store appearances and radio promotions. The Tour is styled by Candie’s and brought to you by Motorola.
The Lennon Bus will also be present in New York on June 21 for the presentation of the $20,000 check for the John Lennon Songwriting Contest’s 10th Maxell Song of the Year. The winner, selected from the 12 Lennon Award Winners by the Contest’s stellar Executive Committee including Elton John, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias, Tim McGraw, Black Eyed Peas, Carol Bayer Sager, Dave Koz, and other celebrated performers and songwriters, will open for Fergie. The evening will also recognize the world renowned Lennon Contest’s first decade, as well as the tenth year that the Lennon Bus is visiting schools across the country, bringing music-making, video production and photography to students who would otherwise not be exposed to the most current technology and the latest traditional instruments and equipment.

The increasing accessibility of digital technology has led to an amazing expansion of opportunity in the art of digital storytelling. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus has been at the forefront of this new media explosion, having produced daily video projects with students since January of 2001. The Lennon Bus puts state-of-the-art digital video equipment into the hands of workshop participants and teaches the entire digital workflow from story-boarding to DVD burning. Students leave the experience having shot, chopped, scored, and (most importantly) finished an entire digital video production. Using the latest cameras and professional hardware/software solutions including Apple's Final Cut Studio and Bogen Imaging's complete line of grip equipment, tripods, filters, and accessories, participants are exposed to the exciting world of digital videography and learn hot techniques of the trade. The accessibility of professional-quality technology is making it possible for millions of new voices to be heard and the John Lennon Bus is putting these tools into the hands of tomorrow's great digital producers.
