John Lennon Educational Tour Bus Launches 2016 Tour at NAMM Show

The Lennon Bus kicks off its 19th year with blues legend Dr. John & the Nite Trippers, John Lennon Songwriting Contest ‘Song of the Year’ Winners The Rare Occasions, and Presenting Sponsor Canon U.S.A., Inc.

The state-of-the-art studios to showcase the latest music and audio products, hold exclusive tours, demos, live performances and the annual Imagine Party celebrating music education

NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 19, 2016) – The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus (Lennon Bus), the premier non-profit state-of-the-art mobile Pro Audio and HD video recording facility that provides hands-on experiences for students of all ages, is making its return to the 2016 NAMM Show on Wednesday, January 20th through Sunday, January 24th at the Anaheim Convention Center.

“John and Yoko’s commitment to peace is inspiring to many of our young visitors, and providing them with free opportunities to create original content and learn about career paths in music, audio, video and new media, gives them the chance to express their ideas and creativity,” said Co-Founder and Executive Director Brian Rothschild.

Parked on the central Grand Plaza in front of the Convention Center, the Lennon Bus will welcome trade show attendees with its newly updated display of onboard state-of-the-art equipment, advanced recording technology, and innovative capabilities. During the four-day conference, tours of the Lennon Bus will provide guests with an exclusive look at the latest audio and video technology, including new Canon U.S.A., Inc. cameras and lenses, in addition to over $14,000 worth of gear giveaways from Audio-Technica, Disc Makers, Epiphone, Mackie, Neutrik, Other World Computing (OWC), Propellerhead, Yamaha and ZVEX Effects.

On Friday evening at 5:45pm, The NAMM Foundation and The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus present The Imagine Party featuring Dr. John & the Nite Trippers, which will include a celebration of music education with a live performance by Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and six time Grammy winner Dr. John on the Nissan Stage in the Grand Plaza. The event will be co-hosted by Other World Computing (OWC), Neutrik USA, Genelec, Securematics and Juniper Networks.

1:00PM – John Lennon Bus Executive Director Brian Rothschild and legendary blues musician Dr. John will discuss the importance of music education in the Idea Center located in the Level 1 Lobby, between Halls B&C.

2:00PM – 5:00PM – Dr. John be on-site at the Bus to jam and record with Fernando Pullum Community Arts Center students who will also perform with Dr. John at the Imagine Party. Media are invited to stop by the bus. RSVP required.

Throughout the day, media are invited for private tours of the Lennon Bus with key executives. These are industry-only events and RSVP is required.

5:45PM – 7:30PM – The Imagine Party, brought to you by the NAMM Foundation and the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus, will kick off at 5:45 at the NAMM Nissan Grand Plaza Stage. The party will feature a special concert by Dr. John & the Nite Rippers and a performance by The Rare Occasions of their ‘Song of the Year’ winning tune “Dysmorphic.” The Imagine Party is co-hosted by Neutrik USA, Genelec, Other World Computing (OWC), Securematics, and Juniper Networks. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a non-profit state-of-the-art mobile Pro Audio and HD video recording facility that provides hands-on experiences for students of all ages. In its 19th year of touring, the Lennon Bus features the latest audio and video technology, gear and products. The concept began as an offshoot of the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, dedicated to providing opportunities for both professional and amateur songwriters around the world; proceeds from which help support the Lennon Bus. The Lennon Bus travels across the U.S. and Canada year-round, providing free tours and workshops at schools, retailers, festivals, on tours with headlining artists, and at major industry conferences. Lennon Bus Europe began providing these same opportunities to the young people of Europe when it launched in Liverpool, UK in May 2013.

The Lennon Bus puts state-of-the-art digital video equipment into the hands of workshop participants and teaches the entire digital workflow from storyboarding to web publication and DVD burning. Students leave the experience having shot, chopped, scored, and (most importantly) finished an entire digital video production. Using the latest cameras and professional hardware/software solutions including Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools, participants are exposed to the exciting world of digital videography and learn hot techniques of the trade.
