The Bus is on its way to Gulf Shores, AL for the Hangout Music Fest. We'll be working with local students and artists including Flogging Molly and Umphrey's McGee. If you're at The Hangout, stop by the Bus and register to win an Epiphone guitar! On 4pm EST Sunday we wrap the festival with an @LENNONBUS livestream featuring G. Love that you can watch anywhere you are on your computer or with the Lennon Bus mobile app!
The Bus will provide digital media production sessions and public tours at high schools in Birmingham and Montgomery followed by our 2nd trip to Gulf Shores to be part of the Hangout Music Fest. The Bus visited Alabama at this time last year to produce an emotionally charged student project in the wake of the devastating tornadoes that recently struck the area. This year we're back and again bringing the Alabama Gospel Music Songwriting Contest, sponsored by Avid.
The Bus enjoyed its latest visit to NOLA 4/27-5/4 for recording and video projects at several area high schools. Check out the Lennon Bus Live session with JLSC - NOLA Jazz Contest winner, Dirtfoot, who were chosen by the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. And you GOTTA watch the student video "Darling" by the Chosen Ones Brass Band! Special thanks to Tipitina's for hosting us on April 30th.
The increasing accessibility of digital technology has led to an amazing expansion of opportunity in the art of digital storytelling. The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus has been at the forefront of this new media explosion, having produced daily video projects with students since January of 2001. The Lennon Bus puts state-of-the-art digital video equipment into the hands of workshop participants and teaches the entire digital workflow from storyboarding to web publication and DVD burning. Students leave the experience having shot, chopped, scored, and (most importantly) finished an entire digital video production. Using the latest cameras and professional hardware/software solutions including Avid Media Composer and Pro Tools, participants are exposed to the exciting world of digital videography and learn hot techniques of the trade. The accessibility of professional-quality technology is making it possible for millions of new voices to be heard and the John Lennon Bus is putting these tools into the hands of tomorrow's great digital producers. Subscribe to our Youtube channel so you never miss any of the amazing videos produced on the Lennon Bus.
